Dr. Barabás AndreaDirector of the Vilmos Csutak Teachers’ House in Covasna County; lecturer at the Teacher Training Institute of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania and site coordinator in Sfântu Gheorghe She completed her secondary education at the Benedek Elek Teacher Training College in Székelyudvarhely. She received her degree in psychology from Babeş–Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 2008. In 2019, she earned a master’s degree in business management from Babeş–Bolyai University. She participated in the doctoral program at the Doctoral School of Humanities, University of Debrecen, in the Doctoral Program in Educational Science and Cultural Management, and defended her dissertation in 2024. She is a member of the National Corps of Mentor Teachers in Romania and the National Accreditation Committee. She is also involved in continuing education for teachers, organizing scientific, methodological, and cultural activities, as well as providing counseling, consultation, and managing various grant applications. Her experience in schools and professional practice, as well as her current work as an institutional leader and educator, are closely linked to the issues of student achievement and teacher mentoring, her key research areas. A major focus of her work is strengthening a future-oriented, values-based pedagogical approach, which supports the future-oriented thinking and professional development of teacher candidates and educators. Dorogi AlexandraPhD Candidate – University of Debrecen, Doctoral School of Humanities, Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences She graduated with a degree in economics (tourism and hospitality) from the University of Debrecen in 2017, and then continued her studies at the Budapest University of Economics and Business in 2019, where she earned a master’s degree in economics (hospitality and tourism). In 2018, her work was awarded a special TDK prize, and in 2020, she was admitted to the Doctoral School of Humanities at the University of Debrecen. She currently works as the head of adult education at the Vocational Training Center of Mátészalka. Her research focuses on students in vocational schools, with particular attention to their family background and academic performance, which she analyses using the databases of the National Competency Assessment. Her research is related to the issues of future consciousness and future orientation: by exploring the connections between social background and educational opportunities, she contributes to the foundation of conscious career planning as well as future-sensitive, opportunity-creating educational policy decisions. Gál EnikőPhD Candidate – University of Debrecen, Doctoral School of Humanities, Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences In 2017, she graduated from University of Nyíregyháza with a degree as a teacher of vocal music and history. Since September 2018, she has been working at Biharkeresztes Elementary School, where she teaches both subjects and serves as a homeroom teacher. In 2019, she was admitted to the Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences at the Doctoral School of Humanities at the University of Debrecen. Dr. Godó KatalinAssistant lecturer – Ludovika University of Public Service She earned her degree as a high school teacher majoring in Hungarian Literature and Grammar and German language at the University of Debrecen in 2019. Learning and teaching play an important role in her life. She believes it is important to support students’ mental well-being, that is the reason why she completed a mental health specialist training program at the Institute of Psychology at the University of Debrecen in 2021 and began studying psychology at Babeș–Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 2024. She currently teaches Hungarian language and literature in public education and, as a guest lecturer, teaches courses in teacher training at the University of Debrecen and the Department of Romology at the Debrecen Reformed Theological University. Hauserné Csonka ÉvaPhD Candidate – University of Debrecen, Doctoral School of Humanities, Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences She graduated from the University of Debrecen as a high school teacher in Hungarian Language and Literature (2009) and History (specializing in military history, 2011). In 2015, she completed her public education management certification. She currently works as a teacher at the István Báthory Catholic Kindergarten, Bilingual Elementary School, and High School in Nyírbátor. From the beginning of her career, she has been deeply committed to helping students with their further education and to creating a vision for the future that is suited to everyone. She believes that teachers play a crucial role in this process. Markovics KatalinPhD Candidate – University of Debrecen, Doctoral School of Humanities, Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences She is a certified teacher of English and German and an accredited language examiner. She earned her degrees, as well as her professional certifications in public education administration and teaching, from the University of Debrecen. She has over 13 years of experience as a high school teacher and has been actively involved in language examination since 2018. In the fall of 2023, she began her studies in the Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences at the Doctoral School of Humanities at the University of Debrecen, and has been a member of the Center for Higher Educational Research and Development (CHERD-Hungary) ever since. Her advisor is Prof. Dr. Veronika Bocsi. Her research focuses on examining student recruitment and target language motivation in Hungarian bilingual high schools, with a particular focus on the connections between sociocultural background and language learning goals. Polgáriné Szilágyi EditPhD Candidate – University of Debrecen, Doctoral School of Humanities, Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences She graduated from the University of Miskolc with a degree in German language teaching and as a translation specialist in economics and social sciences, and later earned her certification as a teacher of English and a mentor teacher at the University of Debrecen. In 2020, she applied to the Doctoral School of Humanities at the University of Debrecen. Before joining the faculty, she had worked in public administration and the media. She is a full-time English teacher, department head, and homeroom teacher for Class 11A at the KOSZISZ Szent István High School in Újfehértó. Her research focuses on the pedagogical methods of Kolping high schools, particularly the education and instruction of disadvantaged youth. She also examines the tools for preventing the dropout of high school students and the potential impact of the religious community. She considers the study of young people’s future orientation to be an important area of her research, particularly the influence of high school and teachers—especially homeroom teachers and the class community. Szabó GabriellaPhD Candidate – University of Debrecen, Doctoral School of Humanities, Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences She holds degrees in Hungarian Language and Literature (B.A. and teaching certification), Library and Information Science, Economics, and Pastoral Psychology, and works as a teacher specializing in family and child protection. She currently works as a social worker in kindergartens and schools and teaches in the Department of Social Work and Child Protection at the Pentecostal Theological College. Her research focuses on the potential role of kindergarten and school social workers in addressing and preventing school bullying. Bullying is a phenomenon that shapes community dynamics in the world of learning; it can have a powerful impact on participants’ motivation and academic performance, and its harmful effects can spread to all areas of the lives of the children and young people involved. The research includes the development and testing of a board game with mechanisms and narratives designed to foster empathy, effective communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution—skills that are crucial for students’ future adult relationships, workplace success, and social participation. Sütő ÉvaPhD Candidate – University of Debrecen, Doctoral School of Humanities, Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences She is a doctoral candidate on a scholarship in the Doctoral Program on Educational Sciences at the University of Debrecen. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Hungarian Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences at Uzhhorod National University in 2011 and 2012. At the start of her career, she worked at the Élim Day Care Center, where she spent two years participating in activities designed to help children with special educational needs to integrate into society. She then worked as a teacher at Hetyen Elementary School for eight years. In 2023, she earned a teaching degree from the master’s program at the II. Rákóczi Ferenc College of Transcarpathia, and in the same year, she was admitted to the doctoral program at the University of Debrecen, where her research focuses on the impact of using LEGO® Duplo blocks in STEM education. She is currently a teacher at the József Simándy Elementary School and Elementary School of Arts in Kistarcsa, where she teaches first-grade students, placing special emphasis on creative, playful, and experiential forms of learning. Dr. Szász Mária-MagdolnaTeacher – Dr. Mihály Lukács Elementary School, Kászon, Hargita County, Romania She completed her undergraduate studies in Preschool and Elementary Education at Babeș–Bolyai University, and her master's degree in Communication and Public Relations at Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania. She went on to pursue her studies in the Doctoral Program on Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Debrecen, where she earned her Ph.D. The topic of her dissertation was an examination of parents’ attitudes towards school and parental involvement in the life of the school.
