The long-term goal of this research workshop, which has been operating continuously since 2001, is to identify and develop factors and pedagogical procedures that support students' resilience, future awareness, and educational performance at the individual and institutional levels, with a particular focus on disadvantaged groups. The core of the MTA-DE Future Awareness Development Research Group, operating within the framework of the MTA Public Education Development Research Program, is formed by the human resources of the CHERD-Hungary research center, which is joined by senior and junior researchers, doctoral students, research teachers, and new generations of teacher and educational science research interns.
CHERD is not only a research center, but also a distinctive form of community work: for more than two decades, weekly research lab meetings held every Tuesday have ensured the progress of research, the professional development of researchers, and the cohesion of the group. The essence of their working method is the continuous development of research skills, the search for innovative research methods, community learning, and regular discussion of the results of research processes, all in the service of research aimed at exploring and strengthening students' future awareness and social capital.
